Lee Moor Business Park is an innovative renewables case study providing incubation units for small businesses in a very rural area in the north of England. Growing wood fuel under the energy crops scheme and with its own resources in the areas of sewage, water, heat, electricity(P) and telecoms is soon to be self-sufficient and carbon neutral.
The site carried out an energy audit to measure Co2 as early as 1995 and went on to design build and operate an ESCO (energy supply company)operating a district heating system using wood. A spin out company is Toasty Heating which sells woodfuel and austrain boilers to others in the NE of England.
