Municipality Puconci (Hungarian: Battyánd, Prekmurian: Püconci) is laying by the left cost of the Mura river, on the plane. It covers 107,85 km2 and cosists of 23 villages.
The relief of the municipality Puconci is pannonian, so that the climate, waters, soil composition, flora and fauna are explicitly pannonian. The main natural wealth of Puconci is its fertile soils. More than a half of its territory is covered with fields, gardens and fruit gardens. Farming is still the most important sphere of activity here.
The municipality Puconci has a good developed intellectual infrastructure, like: primary schools, kindergartens, sport, health service, as well as social and material infrastructure, like: roads, railway, telecommunications, electric and water grids.
Besides its main mission, the municipality Puconci is organizing different activities and offers an active support for many cultural, tourist, ecology, sport, humanitarian acts and other events.
