Municipality Moravske Toplice is located in the picturesque region Prekmurje, in the tryst of three lands on the left bank of the Mura river – lower Ravensko and Dolinsko, and hilly Goričko.
Municipality occupies 144 km2, where in 28 settlements live about 6500 inhabitants (including the Hungarian minority). Confessional side of the municipality is also very different: here live Catholics, Evangelicals, Calvinists and Pentecost.
Moravske Toplice is situated at altitude of 372 m above the sea level, with the average temperature in January - 2,4° C and in July +19,2° C.
There are tree sacral historical “pearls” on its territory: the Roman rotunda church from the XIII c., the Gothic parish church in Martjanci from the XIV c. and the parish church in Bogojina (arch. Plečnik – slo.). From former times here still preserved many folk traditions; the most explicit craft is pottery.
Summer beauty of cultivated fields is leading to higher located mixed forests, full of wild games, birds and mushrooms, along the orchards and vineyards, where grow White Riesling, White Pinot, Renski Riesling, Savinjon and Blue Franconian. During summer here migrating herons, wild ducks and, of course, storks (symbol of the Prekmurje region).
The core of tourism here are the spa in Moravske Toplice town, where the medical thermomineral water helps to cure different skin diseases, injuries and rheumatism. All that brings a special charm to our region.
Actions implemented in the field of building performance:
1. Introduction of energy management in public buildings;
2. Support and promotion of the regional Shining Example - energy efficient building - Smart House Martjanci (thermal insulation of the building envelope, replacement of doors and windows, intelligent lighting, HVAC system, class A household appliances, automated control system);
3. Municipality Moravske Toplice is striving for initiation of energy efficiency measures in public buildings and among its citizens by means of the Display® energy performance posters placed on/inside the public buildings and various awareness campaigns (Energy Days, open days, calls …).
