Presentation of the organisation:
The municipality of Gornja Radgona is situated in the north-east part of Slovenia and includes five local communities with thirty settlements. The territory of the municipality Gornja Radgona is 74,6 m2 large and has 8.693 inhabitants (SURS 2007). It has the border with the neighboring Austria along the river Mura.
The seat of the municipality is in Gornja Radgona city, which is famous for its local Champaign production (Zlata Radgonska penina, since 1852) not only within Slovenia, but also abroad. Together with the development of tourism, in close liaison with the diverse growth of crafts the municipality of Gornja Radgona furthermore is the center of national and international fairs, where the International Fair of Agriculture and Food (AGRA) is one of the most well-known one.
Besides, there are two ancient castles, a XVII c. hospital and a Memorial park within the municipality.
The municipality Gornja Radgona together with its Municipal Development Program 2009-2013 has set up some major targets and opened some promising tasks with a vision to become recognizable and successful, if it will have an appropriate economy and its “green inhabitants”.
