Leeds is the leading city in Yorkshire, and is widely recognised as the regional capital. It is home to national government offices and UK and regional business headquarters. Leeds has nationally recognised cultural attractions and events, which serve the wider region and beyond. It has the most exciting scene for dance outside London and has the Leeds International Concert Season, the largest local authority funded concert season in the country. It also hosts Leeds International Pianoforte Competition and the new FUSELEEDS music festival. It is also the regional business services centre. Leeds is the strongest economic centre in the region, with a skill base and popular universities.
