1.TCA Award 2011: “6 finalist pre-selected from 12 participants: Who is ready to go all the way in Brussels?”
The deadline for the 2010/11 Towards Class A award was March 22nd and we were extremely delighted to receive 12 applications, all of them of a good quality, from diverse cities and regions in Europe.
They are: Cascais (PR), Cork County (IR), Galway (IR), Helsinki (FI), Isla (MA), Lille (FR), Lviv (UV), Oeiras (PR), REGEA (CR), SIEEEN (FR), Vanves (FR) and Velenje (SL).
On the 30th March we organized an Internal meeting to select the 6 finalists, which proved not to be an easy job for us.
After a difficult pre-selection process, the 6 selected finalists are:
• Oeiras (PT)
• Vanves (FR)
• Cork County (IE)
• Lille (FR)
• Velenje (SL)
• Cascais (PT)
Their applications will be evaluated by our international jury of: Pekka Markus Sauri (City of Helsinki), Anna Jaskula, (Deputy Director, PNEC Poland), Arnaud Pêtre (communication consultant), Philippe Bovet, (independent journalist), Vlatka Berlan Vlahek, (City of Ivanic-Grad – TCA winner 2010), Pierre Laconte, (Foundation for the Urban Environment – Exterior member), Pedro Guertler, (Association of the Conservation of Energy).

The presentations will take place in the afternoon of the 12th of April in Brussels, Belgium, in the frame of high profile European Union Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) event.
The official Award Ceremony will take place the following day, in the afternoon of the 13th of April in Brussels.
